An Open Message to Parents…
Dear Parents,
Washington Baseball has been bringing Recreational Youth baseball to the Washington/Romeo Area since 1961. The league has grown in size over the past 60 years to its current size of 500+ players. If this were a business, it would equate to having over 230 employees and servicing over 2700 customers comprised of players and parents. However, Washington Baseball is an organization that is ran solely by Volunteers, from its Board of Directors down to its coaches.
The goals of Washington Baseball include:
· Enable as many area youths (as league constraints allow) to learn and play the game of baseball; in doing so, it is hoped that the children have an enjoyable and fun experience that makes them want to continue to participate in years to come.
· Instruct/teach the players the base fundamentals of baseball that will serve as a foundation for continued years of growth, as they progress to more difficult techniques and concepts.
· Provide playing fields, in conjunction with the Romeo, Washington & Bruce Parks and Recreation Department,, that are clean, groomed, regularly maintained, and safe for the players and family members.
· Provide a league that brings a “Sense of Community” through our 50 plus area business sponsors, opening day activities, Detroit Tiger outing, Night of the All Stars, and Night of the Champions.
· And Finally… To Deliver a League that is Well Organized, where the Board Members are Approachable, Accessible and Willing to Work on Continuous Improvement of Washington Baseball.
Although Washington Baseball works very hard to achieve the above goals, we cannot always guarantee 100% satisfaction. As with any business/organization that has a large customer base, situations or events will occur that require prompt attention and problem solving in order to resolve. As such, when a situation or event occurs that requires league involvement, Washington Baseball respectfully requests that parents be patient, understanding and respectful in their communication to Coaches, League Commissioners, and/or Board Members. Additionally, if a player or parent has an issue or concern, don’t assume that it is being addressed unless you have received a definitive response from a commissioner or board member.
Washington Baseball will continue to strive to meet our goals. In working together with community organizations, our parent volunteers, and our player’s parents, Washington Baseball will continue to grow and continue to provide a positive experience for the youth of our community.
Respectfully,
Washington Baseball
